Artificial Intelligence Usage Policy

Effective date: July 1, 2026

1. Purpose

At VBell Design, technology should enhance craftsmanship—not replace it.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is used selectively as a productivity tool to support certain editorial, technical, and administrative tasks. Its purpose is to improve efficiency, reduce repetitive work, and allow more time to be spent on the thoughtful strategy, creative problem-solving, and design expertise that clients hire me for. Every project remains a human-led service. All significant creative, strategic, and design decisions are made by Vanessa Bell.

2. Guiding Principles

The use of AI is guided by the following principles:

  • Human creativity and professional judgment come first.

  • AI is used only where it improves efficiency without compromising quality.

  • Every AI-assisted output is reviewed, refined, and approved before being delivered to a client.

  • Client confidentiality and intellectual property remain a priority throughout every project.

  • Transparency matters. Clients are welcome to ask questions about how AI is used within their project.

3. How AI May Be Used

AI may be used to assist with tasks such as:

  • proofreading and refining existing copy

  • improving readability and clarity

  • generating SEO page titles and meta descriptions

  • suggesting keywords for search engine optimization

  • writing image alt text for accessibility

  • brainstorming ideas and organizing written content

  • summarizing research or notes

  • assisting with CSS troubleshooting or technical explanations

  • performing image editing tasks such as background removal, object removal, image cleanup, or other production enhancements

  • administrative tasks that improve project efficiency

Any AI-assisted content or production work is carefully reviewed, edited, and approved before it becomes part of a client's project.

4. How AI Is Not Used

AI is not used to make creative or strategic decisions on behalf of clients. Specifically, AI is not relied upon to:

  • develop brand strategy

  • determine creative direction

  • make design decisions

  • create original visual identities or logos

  • replace professional judgment or creative expertise

  • substitute for collaboration with clients

  • deliver unreviewed or unedited work as a final deliverable

Every design decision is made by Vanessa Bell, drawing on more than two decades of experience in branding, information architecture, visual communication, and website design.

5. Human Oversight

AI outputs are treated as suggestions—not final deliverables. Every AI-assisted element is evaluated for:

  • accuracy

  • originality

  • relevance

  • tone of voice

  • clarity

  • accessibility

  • alignment with the client's goals and brand

No AI-generated content is delivered without meaningful human review and professional judgment.

6. Client Privacy & Confidentiality

Reasonable care is taken to protect confidential client information.

Confidential, proprietary, or sensitive information will not knowingly be entered into public AI systems in a manner that could compromise client privacy, intellectual property, or commercially sensitive information.

Where AI tools are used, preference is given to reputable platforms with appropriate privacy and security safeguards.

7. Intellectual Property

Clients retain ownership of the final deliverables as outlined in their project agreement.

AI is used solely as an assistive tool during the creative process and does not alter the ownership of original work produced for clients.

8. Continuous Review

Artificial intelligence continues to evolve rapidly, as do the opportunities and responsibilities associated with its use.

This policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in technology, legal requirements, industry best practices, and the responsible integration of AI into the services offered by VBell Design.

At VBell Design, every project is built on thoughtful collaboration, professional expertise, and careful attention to detail. AI is simply one of many tools that supports the process—it never replaces the creativity, experience, and personal service at the heart of the work.
